We checked into the room at 10 PM, only to find that there wasn’t even any soap to wash our hands. Overall, the cleaning service was absolutely unacceptable.
1. My white socks turned black within 20 minutes because the floor hadn’t been cleaned at all.
2. The curtains looked like they hadn’t been washed since the last century, and the dishes were from the same era, many with chipped edges.
3. The dishes were dirty, especially the undersides of the plates.
4. The worst part was the numerous tiny flies that appeared—those typical ones you find around poorly cleaned sinks, dirty dishes, or leftover fruit. We had to buy sticky traps to catch them, which was disgusting. There were also woodlice in the bathroom.
5. The vacuum cleaner was ancient and ineffective, so it couldn’t clean properly.
The room itself is old, which wouldn’t be an issue if it were cared for properly with thorough cleaning and fresh kitchenware and appliances. However, there was no Wi-Fi in the room, which feels like a cheap cut by the landlords and a lack of respect toward guests in today’s world.
I have stayed in other rooms in this building that were far better maintained. I do not recommend this particular room. It was shocking to have to clean during a vacation in someone else’s home, but living under these conditions was simply impossible.
